Green Mountain is a variety of boxwood noted for its natural upright pyramidal or conical shape. This variety is very tough and winter hardy even in the harshiest winters. It has dense branching that gives a solid architetural form, even without heavy pruning or shaping. However, it does respond well to shaping (hedges, topiary) as well. It has rich green, glossy leaves year-round. In very exposed or sunny winter sites, the leaves may bronze slightly, but generally holds color well. This variety works well for formal hedges due to its shape and density. Also, it's great as a single specimen, or in containers, or as a topiary. It's great for vertical accents, good for winter structure and year-round texture in garden design. Once established it is quite drought tolerant and it's also generally deer resistant too!
