When Nepeta's stems are broken, they release an aroma into the air that tends to attract cats, thus its common name, Catmint. This aromatic foliage also helps deter mosquitios and other pests in the garden. Plants respond well to shearing to promote rebloom. This perennial was chosen at Proven Winners® own 2025 winner of their Landscape Perennial of the year®!
Overview
No catmint is a more beautiful and uniform growing than Cat’s Meow Nepeta. It's truly the "cat's meow"! Many nepetas have a bit of a wild, unkept look, but this first class selection keep its tidy, dense, rounded shap all season long. It's small, grey-green, aromatic leaves are topped with well-branched stems carrying spikes of blue flowers. It's a long blooming perennial staying in color from summer into early fall! Its flowers are dense and colorful, and its habit is more refined. Plus, it stands strong with no flopping, getting wider and growing to a broad mound as the season progresses.
