Overview
Cannas transport any gardener to an exotic locale with their lush growth and tropical flower spikes. Roberta's Durban Canna produces the most colorful foliage of any cannas we've seen! It produces vibrant striping of burgundy, green, and orange all up and down the foliage with shoots of bright orange flower spikes in mid-summer. It's exceptionally pretty when the sun is glowing through the foliage. Durban is an incredible specimen that will illuminate your garden wherever you put it. Simply cut down all the foliage in Autumn to the soil level and lift the tuber and store away in dry peat, newspaper, or a paper bag and store away in a cool, dry location. Or if you have them in pots you can simply pull the containers inside in a frost free area for the winter. Lightly water the soil about once every 6-8 weeks to keep the tuber from drying out completely.
